We are thrilled to offer a truly lovely alternative in the “country” for your dogs to stay, play, and frolic! This gorgeous setting is situated on 65 acres of farmland on Sumas Prairie in Abbotsford, B.C.
Love on a Leash in the Country is headed up by our wonderful “Fairy Dogmother”, Shelly, & her husband Frank, our Vancouver & Lower Mainland dog-boarding and caregivers extraordinaire.
The facility includes several large fenced areas-offering more than 2 acres of grassy areas that are fully fenced and ready for dog play! Shelly offers grooming services now that her professional grooming parlor is complete, so your beloved pooches can come home sweet smelling after their stay. Please note that this service must be booked in advance and is based on availability.
Shelly offers more than 30 years of experience with dogs. In the past, she has shown all breeds professionally and is educated in dog psychology. She is 100% certified in “DogSafe” Canine First Aid, Levels I and II and has extensive training in canine nutrition, including internet conferences with the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Over the years, Shelly has been actively involved in animal rescue groups and to this day is still involved in Boxer Rescue.
She works extensively with all breeds of dogs. Shelly believes that every dog “deserves his day”.
Shelly believes strongly in the principles of calm, controlled pack leadership and practices “positive reinforcement” techniques with all dogs in her care.
Shelly & Frank’s home and facility is a loving, caring place where all dogs are welcome to stay when their owners are on vacation. Their farm is a peaceful, beautiful refuge for your furry friend. This dog boarding facility welcomes dogs from all over Vancouver & the Lower Mainland & offers loads of space for dogs to run and exercise or to just hang out and rest.
